I am disappointed in my country, which deserves to be swallowed by the sea

Had a weird experience on Tuesday when I thought I had found a huge scab coming off my back, and could think of no occasion when I had noticed it having been there or injury that might have caused it.  I pulled at it, the hairs pulled painfully, and it came off revealing that somehow in my sleep the sole patch of actually dense body hair I have had somehow tangled together in the first step in my metamorphosis toward being a ninja turtle.  And I had destroyed it.
No mutant animal powers for me.

Otherwise.

Not been up to a lot.

Feeling a bit glum about things, mostly because life is life and election cycles are awful.

Had therapy.  Was encouraged toward dating apps which is the thing I like least about any mental health interaction I have ever had.  At least my old psychodynamic psychotherapist got to deal with my ending up in the healthiest relationship I had ever had after encouraging me to date, and then moved on to encouraging me to be assertive and end it.  As healthiest relationship I had had was still a burning pile of garbage.

On the topic of my old psychodynamic psychotherapist, I got his eleven page report from my GP.  Very weird reading a write up of 45ish hours of conversation you have had from someone else's perspective.  The 'Chinese whispers'-ness of it.  (What is the politically correct replacement for Chinese whispers, which must be considered a problematic term?)  Things where the two halves of a point both come from things that are right but are arranged in a way that ends of saying something that is slightly... untrue.  It is all just strange.

Went to a Writing group thing that I was sent an Eventfinda link for.  It was 'interesting' but maybe not for me.  But I think Carla maybe took more from it than I did.

It did, however, leave me thinking I should sign up and do this years NaNoWriMo.

And then the election happened and 9ish percent of the country voted for the authoritarian white nationalists in libertarian drag, and possibly (though hopefully not it is close enough we will have to wait a couple of weeks for final results) it will just be them and the Nats ruining the country.

It seems very wrong to be hoping that the government needs Winston Peters in it to form.  He is a broken old man, but at least he will slow everything down and reduce how much damage they can do.  They Nat love pushing inappropriate poorly written laws through under urgency (maybe that was just John Key's Nats - but NZ is still saddled with some stupid bits of mess posing as legislation because of it, none of which had legitimate reason for urgency).
